Drool! Thanks for telling me, guys, that this existed! What is the matter with you people? This show was in syndication a few years ago on my national music station, and why they stopped airing it is beyond me.

Formed in 1982. Disbanded in 1989. [25 Apr 2005|12:39pm]

Feauturing former members of Gang of Four and XTC, Shriekback were bound to create some interesting sounds. Think Bauhaus meets the Talking Heads for tea, while a porn funk bass groove plays lightly over it all. For your listening pleasure, I provide the opening track on the album Oil and Gold. It's pure funk madness with a twist. For a full bio of the group, go here. Now, Download the track and enjoy. Then tell us your thoughts.

QUICK. Top five artists of the 80s. Go go go.

The more dedicated folk can upload a song from their No. 1 band to YouSendIt, so the rest of us can bob our heads with you. We'll love you for it.

Also :

Depeche Mode is in the studio recording their new album which is out by year's end. Ben Hillier (Blur, Suede, Elbow, New Order) is producing. Your thoughts?

Oh, and if anyone's heard this new Erasure album, what do you think?

I joined last night, and I thought I'd just post a little hello. :) It's a shame that this community isn't more active, because it seems like it's really great.

I'm not sure what else to say...have a nice day, I suppose. :)

I did a "name that song" in my journal the other day, and I had so much fun with it, I thought I'd give you guys one, based on this CD I burned a couple weeks ago that I've been listening to constantly. Some are easier than others. I challenge thee. Read more...Collapse )

I was a kid in the 80s, I remember the decade fairly well and the music.. oh the music. I am in love with it more now than I was back then I think. hehe. Anyways, it's nice to see another fun 80s/new wave-loving community and I'll contribute my knowledge as often as possible. Cheers!
